General stuff to do with numbers, science and fact.
First of all; numbers are, or should be, used in counting "things" and it is the failure to grasp this very small, but very significant fact that has led to many many many many many many problems in the academic circles...as well as in virtually all life today, since we all count, even if we may think what we count doesn't count as counting, if you are following the thread of my story.
Second;- if you are counting, the numbers them-selves have no 'self' to speak of;- numbers DO NOT EXIST. They neither occupy space nor do they have any real shape, so it is very surprising that one can actually have a square root of a number, because the said numbers would have to BE squares to have roots. Yeah, that may seem like a 'bit of sophism' to some, but the origin of these concepts like 'roots', if you really want to uproot them, would be found to be in the very practical world of measurement of 'things' that 'occupy space'
Third;- time, which some say is relative, REMAINS time, and is definitely not anything's relative; but it is the "observation" of the duration of an event that is relative, so much so that if one's time-measuring "apparatus" [learned speak for 'thingamajig', or 'whatchumacallit'] is affected by motion of the thing that is being measured, the observed time-lapse of the moving measurer will be different from that of the apparatus that measured without motion. So, that being the case, it can not be done that one may go 'backwards' or 'forwards' in time, since time is not a physical entity.
This is where it gets a bit complicated, because time may NOT be an entity, but it is the observation that will differ, depending on whether the observer was involved with the motion or not, or whether the observation was itself affected by the motion. Just as one can not hold up a 'pink, cold little sliver'...Ok, then;" grey", cold sliver... and say that he...or she... is holding a 'second', since time has no fabric, then it follows that one can not really be expected to find the 'seam' of time and perform a 'time-warp' as is the case now with billions being spent to make up a machine that will enable one to be in a space and time where he/she was not when the machine is fully operational...do not try to make sense of that last statement, try me, your headache will have a headache as well as your head by the time you grasp the utter unworkability of that concept!
As to recognising limits...
This is why one can not have also 'fields' of n-dimensional space, as the 'pure mathematicians' would have you believe, since all space is fully defined by the three, albeit relative, dimensions;- Length, Width, Height.
This should also give one a hint of how many "powers" are possible, and how many angles and degrees it is REALLY possible to have.
When one talks of a continuous sine wave, or even of the phase difference in simple harmonics, the fact that there is a limit is usually conveniently overlooked, and one finds that since an angle has to be the relative space between two sides, if there is no space then there is no angle, so the fact that one can even get an answer for
