Again and Again, with the same old song... when will we learn?

There is the song that goes:

We are so young now we are so young now

And when tomorrow comes we can do it all again...

Of course, the young are invincible, and reckless and live life like it is a candle being burnt both ends; there is no need to worry about cleaning up any messes that they make, because that is the job that others have to do, so why worry?

Today will be like yesterday and we will live it up and when tomorrow comes it will be like yesterday and we will live it up as we always did and we will never have to worry because there are no real consequences to our actions; we will just blink our eyes and everything will be back to normal, right?

Yes, I suppose we could all just dream on and pretend, right?

After all, nothing has ever changed in the past few years, has it? No disasters, no earth-shattering occurrences, no real change. All those things that ever happened happened to other people, who probably deserved them anyway, so we are alright, are we not?

This COUNTING NUMBERS thing is not our mess, is it? I mean, why do WE have to do anything...it is just a madman shooting off his mouth: Ignore him and he will go away...they all do!
